PB & J

This is what I'm doing right now:
If you're really intuitive, you can tell that just moments ago I was making a PB & J sandwich. This got me to thinking. How do you make your PB & J? Do you have a set way like I do? I always spread the peanut butter first, then the jam. Then (as you can also see in the pictures), I eat the crust first before the rest of the sandwich. What do you do?

p.s. Don't forget to vote on my poll!

Winter Women

HA. Sometimes I make myself laugh. That's a great title, if I do say so myself.
On Friday it snew here! I'm not a huge fan of snow (in fact, I hate it while I'm driving), but the flakes that fell Friday made me swallow some of my dislike toward winter. The snow that fell was the wonderful big-flaked, slow-falling snow. That night I went to International Cinema (and saw Dear Frankie, which I highly recommend) with my friends. When we came outside we found that the snow had been falling the whole time we were inside, and that quite a bit of it had collected. It was gorgeous being on campus and seeing a lot of areas where no footprints had messed up the snow. So, we decided to take some pictures! Here I am enjoying God's handiwork while Chelsea and Jenessa look on at me like I'm nuts... :)

Yay! I love these wintery women. :) At left is my dear friend Chelsea and in the middle is my other dear friend Jenessa (my roommate last year).

Here's Ali and me! Ali is in my ward this year, so she doesn't really know the other people that went to the movie. However, I hope she had fun, because I know I love spending time with her!

Beautiful falling snow!

Word that Doesn't Exist

Or maybe it does, but it shouldn't...

Irregardless.

Someone used it in Sunday School yesterday, and I was glad to hear someone else whisper to his neighbor, 'Is that a word? I don't think it is. He should have just said "regardless." ' I silently agreed.

And I thought that the guy doing the whispering should learn how to whisper more quietly.

Things

Things I've never done *slash* things I want to learn to do *slash* things I want to do just to say that I did them at least once in my life *slash* things I want to do particularly before I graduate from BYU *slash* things I've never done, but once I do I imagine I'll do it for the rest of my life:
(Your guess as to which things fall into which category.)
  • Eat at the Pendulum Court
  • Play chess
  • Watch "Freaky Friday" (the version with Jodie Foster)

  • Go to a concert (and not just a band or orchestra one :D)
  • Get a tattoo.... HAHA. Just kidding! That's rill rill dumb. And ugly. And gross. And I really don't see why that is on some people's "life list."
  • Bungee Jump or Sky Dive
  • Go to the East Coast and visit places like New York, Washington D.C., Boston, North Carolina, etc. I've heard so many great things about these places, but I don't remember it at all from the time we went when I was young!

  • Make a movie
  • Dance with a boy whom I love
  • Go ice blocking
  • Go to every temple in Utah
  • Eat at In-N-Out
  • Memorize a piano song that is harder than the level I was at in Second Grade
  • Visit every state
  • Try an unfamiliar kind of cheese
  • Buy a pair of boots
  • Stay up all night
  • Swim in the Great Salt Lake
  • Hike up to the "Y" on the mountain
  • Complete a scrapbook
  • Get in a real, lengthy snowball fight
  • Get a 4.0 GPA
  • Hear a Big Band (well, I don't know if that's what it's called, but like the one from the "The Great Mom Swap") live
  • Watch a sunrise and a sunset -- uninterrupted and viewed from a place away from most other people
  • Celebrate a Christmas with a live tree
  • Plant a tree
  • Eat an eggplant
  • Go tubing or waterskiing
  • Participate in a Helping Hands project (the yellow LDS t-shirts, ya know?)
  • Shovel snow
  • Go sledding

There's probably more, but at least it's a start.

My Christmas Vacation

This year for Christmas, I went with my other single sister not on a mission, Jennifer, to visit our sister Michelle and her family in Iowa. Whilst I was there I had lots of fun!! I did a lot of relaxing, a bunch of reading good books, had a lot of sleep, enjoyed fun late-night chats, successfully messed with my sleep schedule, and even did some heart rate blasting and fat shredding with Jillian and the YMCA. I even learned some interesting facts about *tobacco while I was there.
Thank you, Mom, for funding my little Iowan vacation ('cause we all know I'd be too poor to afford that on my own). Thank you, Jen, for getting things arranged and for being a fun roommate for a couple of weeks (even if you do do interesting things right after you fall asleep). And most of all, thank you, Michelle and Mike (and Aidan), for letting us come stay with you and play with you!

[Just so you know, the italicized things are inside jokes we had that aren't worth explaining if you weren't there. *And yes, you could understand the tobacco comment if you read Michelle's blog, but apparently (based on the lack of comments there), we were the only ones to find that side-splitingly hilarious.]

Here are just a few of the pictures (mostly of Aidan on here, but I did take other ones) from the break. Since I got to meet him for the first time, I thought I'd introduce him to you, too!
What a fun guy to sit next to in every car ride! And he makes a good lamb.

Aww! Look at the Mr. with his big blue eyes. So precious.

Though my pictures don't generally show it, he sure has an adorable grin with two little bottom teeth!

Aidan went swimming for the first time!

Aidan and his milk jugs at the store. (Thank goodness it wasn't at Hy-Vee that we bought this milk.)

Belated, but still cool

I really really like this Mormon Message. The song is so beautiful, and what President Monson says is so great! Call me weird, but these are the types of things that make me wish it were Christmas year-round. (I did take down my Christmas decorations today, so it's not like I'll actually be celebrating Christmas year-round. Not to worry...)

Seriously?

Today I must not have been all there.
After going on a run (and realizing that it was not a great day to start exercising, since it was snowing on me), I hurried and changed and went up to campus. Having checked my room number before, I was not the least bit worried about walking into my class just a few minutes late. After all, it's only the first day of class; what would I miss?

I became uber confused when I realized a lady teacher with huge hair was teaching the class. I knew I had signed up for a class with a male professor. Nonetheless, I took a seat (in the middle of a row) so as to not be a big distraction to the rest of the class while I stood in the aisle. Shortly after sitting, I finally realized that I was in a PolySci class and not the Music 201 class I thought I was coming to. However, since I had just walked in, I didn't want to leave right away and look like a dork.

I waited about 15 minutes, all the while wondering what classroom I was in and where I should be. When I finally had the chance to climb back over everyone and leave, I was shocked to see that I had been in the correct classroom! "So, where was Music 201 moved to?" I wondered.

It literally took me at least a full minute to realize that it was 4:25.

My Music 201 class starts at 5:00.
