True Love

Sometimes people are just made for each other.

Do you remember this friend? And how she met someone else?

Guess what I've seen them doing together...

One day I thought I smelled burnt rubber...
But before I found the source of the smell, I found Earl shading h
is dear friend from terrible UV rays.
He sacrificed his own little rubber body to prote
ct her.

Meanies attacked Thelma and threatened her with head-pop-offage...
Unless someone else could save her.
He laid on a bed of nails for her.

Another time I heard Thelma calling out in distress...
Something about losing her arm down a cliff.
Despite a lack of ropes, he rock climbed for her.

She said she liked flowers...
especially blue ones just her size.
He picked a flower even bigger than himself, just to see her smile.

Earl & Thelma
Now that's true dedication.

I glew in the dark!!

The other day I was cleaning through my room (something I've done a lot of lately) and I found some Glow Bracelets and a Glow Necklace. Conveniently enough I had discovered a few weeks earlier that my camera has the ability to do time-lapse photography. So.... putting two together, I decided to involve Jennifer and Mom in an evening activity!

The bracelets turned out not to be bright enough, but the necklace (with three different colors on it) showed up pretty well!

Here's Jen waving it around:
And here's my name! It took me a few tries to time it just right, and I'm not the best at writing backwards...
Mommie wrote her name (LaRae) and was pretty good at it.
Then she traced me!
And here's what I spent time doing after the others went back inside (too many mosquitoes outside). I think time-lapse and timer functions are great things to have on a camera. :D
What a fun way to clean out my room!

Why...

Why do I love West Texas?
Why do I love taking pictures (and wish I were better at it normally)?
Why were these past 18 years so incredible?
Why is editing photos something I find fun?
Why will I really really miss this place?

This shows part of the reasons why...

Hermana Blake

And she's off to the Missionary Training Center!

This past Wednesday I said goodbye to my siddo Rebecca. We didn't even cry since it was such a quick goodbye on the curb! I miss her, but I know she'll be great and learn a lot while she serves. Those people in the Peru Trujillo mission have a great sister comin'!

Yeah we look dumb, but this was the night she got set apart as a missionary. This was the family there for her. This is a lot fewer people than other siblings have had! Just so you know, Bec pulled me and almost made me fall over right before this timed picture was taken. Hence, me looking like I'm trying to fly and all of us laughing.
Ya gotta take the traditional picture by the sign...

Jennifer, me, Emily, Jon, Rebecca, Mom, Spencer
And here's with the family there at the MTC. More were there for a celebration dinner at Olive Garden the night before, but not all could come the morning of because of work schedules. Plus also, when you just drop a missionary off at the curb (IN a car, mind you, 'cause apparently you "can't get into the MTC without a car") it doesn't make sense for a ton of people to come be there. And here's the missionary with her parent....s? (Maybe Dad's floating around invisible somewhere. :D hehe)

Good luck, Hermana Blake!

Tag

Lisa tagged me, so here goes.

8 Things I did Yesterday:
  1. Finished watching "Pride and Prejudice" (the most recent version).
  2. Went to a store and paid for grub control stuff to make a the Hansen's lawn better.
  3. Went through the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House, but sadly felt rushed as I did.
  4. Hit almost every red light on Bangerter Highway between the temple and where I needed to be.
  5. Cut it REALLY close in the airport. I'm talkin' having-my-name-called-out-to-report-to-the-gate-close. Consequently I ran through most of the Salt Lake City airport and made it on the plane about 2.5 minutes before the doors closed.
  6. Sat in the Albuquerque Airport for at least 3 hours. What fun.
  7. Talked to a really nice girl on the short plane ride from New Mexico to Texas.
  8. Arrived home and celebrated by staying up too late watching a really odd movie on tv.
8 Things I Look Forward to:
  1. Eating my first meal of the day today... it's 1:00 in the afternoon.
  2. Having family members visit in the upcoming weeks.
  3. Getting everything packed and thus being done.
  4. Fall semester and seeing how well I can cook for myself.
  5. Someone buying our house. I will miss it immensely, but it's time for all this house on the market stuff to be over.
  6. Having my music and good radio stations again when I'm back in Utah.
  7. Chillin' for a few weeks at the Hansen's house before schoolio.
  8. Tomorrow. Why not?
  9. *Since #1 has now been completed...* Garage Sale! Not really a ton of fun, but once it's over more junk will be out of this house!
8 Things I Wish I Could do:
  1. Play the French horn and the cello.
  2. Apparate and/or fly.
  3. Be regular with exercise and enjoy it in the process.
  4. Think of more things I wish I could do.
  5. Get a job. I really hope this Testing Center thing works out, because I haven't heard anything back from the lady I sent my application to.
  6. Read as much as I wanted to without getting tired or running out of books.
  7. Decide on something to major in.
  8. Go to Washington D.C., New York, etc.
